  • Stewart Repesents at Robotics

On April 20, Sebastian Rojas, who is a 7th grader at Stewart MS participated in the annual BotBall Robotics competition. Sebastian and other 6th and 7th grade males who worked on a software and mechanical engineering and robotics project had competed against 27 other regional teams. The YMIC Foundation Inc. Neptune team placed 13th out of 27. Sebastian was very instrumental in designing an effector arm which grabbed color palms to score points. He was required to understand and control a servo motor for an arm motion and a claw as well. Sebastian plans to return to the YMIC research center this summer to prepare for next year’s competition. • Stewart Gets a Mascot!

“Stewie” the new Stewart Wildcat mascot was introduced to the students and faculty at the start of the Winter2012/2013 Sports Season. Mr. Brislin (Athletic Coordinator) wanted to add some spirit and excitement to our school as well as to the wildcat athletic program. With the help of some school organizations, we were able to purchase our mascot for all kinds of student activities. Special thanks go to the Music Boosters, the Parent Faculty Club, the Student Council and Principal Walls for supporting the idea and contributing to bringing Stewie Home.
