Hello Stewart Middle School Families.
Welcome to the Stewart Middle School website! We hope you check the site often and find it to be a valuable resource. Mr. Crim, Vice Principal, updates our website with the latest important dates and handouts. We send information home in the Wednesday folder weekly but you can access all of the information on this website.
The Stewart Middle School Staff has created a mission statement and motto that guides the work that we do with you, your children and the Norristown Community.
"Stewart Middle School is a community which empowers
students to achieve success, confidence, and personal growth through teaching
and learning in a nurturing environment that values family and diversity."
“Success is here for the taking!”
We are looking forward to working with you and your child so that they have a wonderful middle school experience.
The 8th graders at SMS are beginning the course selection process. We ask that every 8th grader fill out a course selection sheet even if you do not plan on sending your child to NAHS. Students will be selecting English, Math, Science and Social Studies courses with their teachers on Friday, February 27th. The course selection cards will be copied and given to your child on MONDAY, March 2nd to bring home and select electives. EVERY card must be signed by a parent or guardian. The cards are due to Miss Walls on Wednesday, March 4th. We will not change or adjust cards without a parent contact after they are turned in. If you have any questions please contact Miss Walls or Mrs. Gruber. Thank you for your support.
Students are welcome to study in the library's TeenZone area or hold study group meetings any time. However, Thursdays at 4 in the TeenZone, a staff member from the library will be on hand to assist students with their homework.
SMS is launching a parent/guardian volunteer program to support students academically and socially. Please see the attached form for information and application. Information is also included on the application on how parents and guardians can obtain the proper clearances to volunteer in our school.
Stewart is a uniform school! We have added an additional shirt color and 3 additional sneaker colors for the 2014-2015 school year to accommodate parents. Navy and white polo shirts are permitted this year along with navy, white, gray or black sneakers. Dress pants, skirts, dress shorts and jumpers remain navy blue. If you have any questions please call SMS at 610-275-6870.
