Dear Hancock Elementary School Families,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share my excitement about my appointment as the new principal of Hancock Elementary School.  I feel very fortunate to be joining a school community where the focus is on student learning and high expectations.  It is my intent to continue to carry out these important traditions and practices.  

Hancock Elementary School is dedicated to building a safe, compassionate community of lifelong learners who are inspired to become respectful, responsible, cooperative, innovative independent thinkers and problem solvers.  We look forward to working with you to guarantee that our goal is achieved.  You play a key role in the academic success of our students; therefore, school/parent communication is crucial.  To further ensure a successful school year, please:

• Make your child’s prompt attendance to school a priority
• Expect homework Monday through Friday
• Have your child read for at least 15 minutes every night
• Practice basic math facts with your child
• Return all requested forms and documents to school in a timely manner

Our instructional program will be far more effective with your active participation.  Please send your children to school equipped with the proper materials and ready to learn, and we, in turn will send them home to you prepared to meet the challenges of the future.  Your participation is not only welcomed, but it is greatly needed!
