Eisenhower Middle School is located in the Municipality of Norristown. Originally opened as a high school in 1937, Eisenhower remained a high school until 1980. In 1980, it was converted to a Junior High School and remained as such until 1983. Since 1983, Eisenhower has operated as a middle school serving grades 6-8 and special needs students. Currently, Eisenhower Middle School service grades 5-8 and special needs. Eisenhower is a state of the art building that boasts a large lobby area and modern auditorium. One cannot help but notice the painted ceiling and copper trim throughout the lobby area.

Eisenhower Middle School is a learning community filled with many opportunities for students to experience intellectual and social growth as they begin their adolescent years. The teachers at Eisenhower structure lessons to meet the needs of young adolescents and provide a curriculum that is relevant, challenging, integrative, and exploratory. As one enters the school, they are greeted with the school motto, Enter to Learn, Exit to Serve. This summarizes the goal of Eisenhower Middle School.

Eisenhower Middle School is physically set up in small learning communities. There is an Arts Community and a Health Community and within each community, there is an upper and a lower house. In this fashion, the school actually has 4 smaller schools, which allow for more personalized attention for each student.

Our building is inviting and we offer many support services to our students to ensure a safe environment for all members of the Eisenhower community. Some school-wide programs fostering the health, safety, and wellness of our students include:
• Seasonal Sports
• 21st Century After School Program
• Chorus/Performing Arts
• Instrumental Music
• Technology
• Visual Arts
• Big Brothers/Big Sisters Mentoring Program
• In-School Counseling Programs
• Student Council

The academic programs at Eisenhower are rigorous and exciting. These programs are designed to meet students at their current educational level and advance students throughout the school year. The staff works collaboratively to plan engaging activities that motivate the students to Learn More.

Eisenhower also has programs available to meet the needs of exceptional children in Montgomery County. Currently six special needs classes are housed at Eisenhower including life skills, multiple disabilities, and autistic support. Students in these programs are a vital part of the Eisenhower Community.

The calendar at Eisenhower is always full of engaging activities for students, their families, and the community. A monthly newsletter is available on this page to keep all family members informed about the latest events. Please visit the school calendar and join us at our next event.
