Welcome!

  • Stoczko Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to Hancock Elementary School where the focus is on academic excellence.  The students will be exposed to a highly intensive and challenging academic program that will push them to work beyond their limits each and every day.  Our goal is to ensure that all students become critical thinkers, active problem-solvers, inquisitive readers, diligent researchers and prolific readers.

We want your child to be happy and successful while attending Hancock Elementary, and you play a key role in carrying this out.  School/Parent communication is crucial!  To further ensure a successful school year, I ask that you please do the following:

    • Make your child's prompt attendance to school a priority ~ ALL DAY EVERY DAY!
    • Expect homework Monday through Thursday
    • Have your child read for at least 15 minutes every night
    • Practice basic math facts with your child every night (Flashcards are good to use)
    • Return all requested forms and documents to school in a timely manner

Our instructional program will be far more effective with your active participation.  Please send your child to school equipped with the proper materials and ready to learn, and we, in turn will send them home to you prepared to meet the challenges of the future.  By working together, we will have an amazing year filled with learning, lifelong relationships, and the joys of success and accomplishments.

Hancock is a School-wide Title I school that strives to develop Family-School-Community partnerships. Parents are a part of the decision-making process for the use of Title I funds to improve the education of the children in our school.  It is very important that parents and staff are equal partners empowered to be advocates for all children.

I look forward to working closely with you to ensure that your child is successful!

"Success Is Not An Option....But An Expectation!"

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Sondra Stoczko

    Principal
