Welcome to Hancock!

  • Stoczko Dear Parents/Guardians,

On behalf of the staff at Hancock Elementary School, I am honored to welcome all who are new to our school and welcome back all who are returning.  Hancock is dedicated to quality instruction that promotes academic excellence through an enriched and rigorous curriculum.  Our goal is to help all students become critical thinkers, active problem-solvers, inquisitive readers, and proficient writers.  We look forward to working with you throughout the school year as we pursue excellence together.
We want your child to be happy and successful while attending Hancock Elementary, so in order to achieve this, we need your help.  School/Parent communication is crucial.  Our instructional program will be far more effective with your active participation.  To further ensure a successful school year, I ask that you please do the following:
    • Make your child's daily school attendance a priority
    • Student Day is 8:55 a.m. - 3:25 p.m.
    • Do your best to make all appointments for your child after the school day
    • Expect homework Monday through Thursday
    • Have your child read for at least 15 minutes every night
    • Practice basic math facts with your child every night (Flashcards are good)
    • Return all requested forms and documents to school in a timely manner

Please send your child to school equipped with the proper materials and ready to learn, and we, in turn will send them home to you prepared to meet the challenges of the future.  By working together, we will have an amazing year filled with learning, lifelong relationships, and the joys of success and accomplishments.

Hancock is a School-wide Title I school that strives to develop Family-School-Community partnerships. Parents are a part of the decision-making process for the use of Title I funds to improve the education of the children in our school.  It is very important that parents and staff are equal partners empowered to be advocates for all children.  Please join our Parent Faculty Club (PFC).  We meet the second Monday of each month from 6:30-7:30 pm in our library.  Child Care is provided.

I look forward to working closely with you to ensure that your child is successful!

"Success Is Not An Option....But An Expectation!"

    Mrs. Sondra Stoczko
