Dear Whitehall Families,
I am so excited to introduce myself as the principal of Whitehall Elementary School. You may know me from attending grade school together, community events, or over the last 20 years that I have served in the Norristown Area School District. It has been an honor to be a servant leader for the students, staff, and the Norristown Community. This was a promise I made to myself many years ago.
Over these last few weeks here at Whitehall Elementary School, the staff has been nothing short of supportive, team spirited, and showing a love for student success. Not only am I proud to lead such an amazing group of talented staff, I am certain you will be equally impressed. Their dedication to provide a high quality educational experience for your child is simply amazing.
Along with our amazing staff, I will work hard to demonstrate high expectations and superior standards, while building solid relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners. We will continue to focus on Character Education and Restorative Practices initiatives, maintaining a safe environment, utilizing data to inform instruction, integrating technology, and creating exciting and challenging enrichment opportunities for all students.
As parents, you may be experiencing many emotions as you gear up for the upcoming school year. You also may be uncertain of your child’s readiness as they continue their educational journey. Our staff will be happy to share expectations and answer any questions to ensure academic success and prepare your child for the fast-paced, demanding rigors of school. Our goal is for every student to reach his or her developmental potential by building a strong academic foundation. We support student dialogue, discourse, and critical thinking skills, along with mathematical and scientific reasoning.
This is also an invitation for you to join our Parent Faculty Club (PFC), which offers monthly opportunities for all parents to work for the good of the school. This is a perfect time to meet other families, create a school network, volunteer your time and talents, or bring your thoughtful ideas to the table. If you are unable to join, I encourage you to attend at least two PFC meetings throughout the school year.
As a reminder, the first day of school is Wednesday, September 6, 2017. I am looking forward to an awesome school year and partnership. I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer!
