District Community Engagement to Inform the Use of ESSER III Funds

  • Federal Requirements: For ESSER III, USED requires districts to engage in meaningful consultation with stakeholders, including, but not limited to students, families, and educators (school and district administrators, teachers, and their unions). To the extent they are present in the district, meaningful consultation is also required with Tribes, civil rights organizations (including disability rights organizations), and stakeholders representing the interests of children with disabilities, English learners, children experiencing homelessness, children and youth in foster care, migratory students, children who are incarcerated, and other underserved students. The districts must also provide the public the opportunity to provide input in the development of the district’s plan for the use of ESSER III funds and take such input into account.  ESSER III plans are discussed at Facilities-Finance Committee meetings. Link to Register Here
