Do I have to submit a note every time my child is absent?
Posted by:Yes. You must submit an absent note each time your child is absent. If an absent note is not submitted, the absence will be considered unexcused. After 3 unexcused absences, your child will be considered truant. You can complete our electronic absent notes by clicking on the following links.

My child does not want to go to school anymore, can they drop out?
Posted by:In the state of Pennsylvania, by law, a child must attend school if they are between the ages of 6 and 18 years old. If your child is under the age of 18, they can not drop out of school. If your child is 18 years old, they can speak with their counselor about the options available.

Will I be sent to court if my child does not go to school?
Posted by:Yes. If your child accumulates a significant number of unexcused absences and does not improve their attendance, the school district can issue a citation and schedule you for a truancy court hearing.

How much is the fine if my child does not go to school? Are there payment plans?
Posted by:The fine is up to $300 dollars. Payment plans are available with the court. If you need a payment plan, you can speak directly with the court secretary and make arrangements with them. Payments are made to the court directly.
