• Do I have to submit a note every time my child is absent?

    Posted by:

Yes. You must submit an absent note each time your child is absent. If an absent note is not submitted, the absence will be considered unexcused. After 3 unexcused absences, your child will be considered truant. You can complete our electronic absent notes by clicking on the following links.

  • My child does not want to go to school anymore, can they drop out?

    Posted by:

In the state of Pennsylvania, by law, a child must attend school if they are between the ages of 6 and 18 years old. If your child is under the age of 18, they can not drop out of school. If your child is 18 years old, they can speak with their counselor about the options available.

Yes. If your child accumulates a significant number of unexcused absences and does not improve their attendance, the school district can issue a citation and schedule you for a truancy court hearing.
