Madison Galczyk, a fourth grader at Marshall Street Elementary School, earns 3rd place for her pressed plant exhibit in the Philadelphia Flower Show, the longest-running and largest indoor flower show IN THE WORLD!
Congratulations Madison! The magnitude of this honor is extremely impressive! You competed against world-class exhibitors and claimed the title for Norristown - proving once again that Norristown Area School District has world-class students learning in our classrooms.
In the photo above, 4th grade teacher Ms. Donna Freeman (right)  and Ms. Barbara Schmidt (left), of the Norristown Garden Club  pose with Madison to showcase her ribbon and ARTiculture exhibit. Many thanks to Ms. Schmidt and the other ladies from the Norristown Garden Club who volunteer their time annually to work with the Marshall Street Elementary School students in the classrooms and in the gardens to impart their love of horticulture to our children.

Madison was notified of her prize via a personal letter from Ms. Mary Campbell, chairperson of the pressed flowers program at the Philadelphia Flower Show.
Ms. Freeman and her entire 4th grade class boarded a bus on March 7 and headed to the Philadelphia Flower Show where they enjoyed an entire day surrounded by the magnificent beauty of art and flowers. It was an eye opening experience for our young people. Thank you, Ms. Freeman!
