    If you are calling about...

    What do I do if my child will be late or absent?


    If your child is late: A parent or guardian must report to the main office with the student, if arriving after 9:10 a.m. If the lateness was due to a doctors’visit or dentist appointment, please obtain a note from the doctor’s office to present to the office. The student will get a late slip from the office to be admitted to the classroom.

    If your child is absent: Please fill out the Official Absence Excuse Card and send it in with your child.

    What is the Schools Dress Code?

    Uniform and Dress Code

    We do have a suggested Uniform Program.  

    NAVY BLUE   : Pants, Skirts, Jumpers, Sweatpants, Shorts (length to be just above the knee, no short shorts)

    WHITE OR GRAY: Polo shirts or Blouses

    NAVY BLUE: Sweater or Vest

    NAVY BLUE: Sweatshirt WITHOUT HOOD (Students are permitted to wear sweatshirts with a hood to school as a jacket. It would need to be removed once they arrive at school)

    WHITE or NAVY: Socks

    SHOES: It is preferred that they wear sneakers which can be of your choice

    Students should wear clothing that is appropriate to school activities, not disruptive of the school program, and consistent with reasonable standards of attire. 
     
    We enforce the following rules of dress:

    No tank tops, muscle shirts, spaghetti straps (shoulders should be covered).

    No short shorts (shorts when worn should be just above the knee).

    Pants must fit so that they stay up at the waist.  (No underwear showing)

    No excessive or unsafe jewelry.

    Hats may not be worn inside the building by students.

    Clothing/jewelry/wristbands with obscene or offensive words or pictures are not acceptable. 

    Students may be sent home or a parent will be asked to bring appropriate clothing for their child. 

     

    What if I want to take my child on a vacation during the school year?


    We do not encourage extended vacations during the school year.  If you choose to take a family vacation during the school year, a Special Request for Absence for Student form must be obtained from the school office, completed and sent to the principal prior to the absence.

    Is there daycare at Whitehall?

    ESCC

    The Extended School-day Children’s Center, Inc. provides child supervision from 7:00 AM– 9:00 AM and 3:00 AM – 6:00 AM every school day for our students.  The program is licensed by the Department of Welfare. This is a private company not run by the Norristown Area School District.  Please call the ESCC office at 610-584-5420 for information about tuitions, schedules and program content.

    What time is early dismissal and how often does it happen?

    Early dismissal occurs several times during the school year. Please see the designated days on the district and school calendar.

     Early dismissal is 12:20 PM.
