On November 16, 2020, Norristown Area School District distributed a survey for parents to indicate whether each child would remain in fully virtual instruction or would begin hybrid learning when the district was able. The survey is due November 20, 2020.
On November 13, 2020, Norristown Area School District shared its plans for NASD Hybrid, the next phase of the district's phased school reopening plans. This information included "A Day in the Life of a Hybrid Student", sample schedules, as well as health and safety information.
On November 11, 2020, Norristown Area School District announced plans for a phased return to in-person instruction. A tentative schedule was published for student groups to be returned over a five week period. District specific metrics to determine when instructional models would be implemented were published and communicated to all stakeholder groups.
On Thursday, July 30, 2020, Norristown Area School District announced its plan to suspend all fall sports for the 2020 season, to ensure the health and safety of students, staff, and community.
On Tuesday, July 28, 2020, Norristown Area School District announced its plan to offer virtual instruction only for all students through January 2021.On Wednesday, June 3, 2020, Governor Wolf announced the process for reopening schools for the 2020-2021 school year under Yellow and Green phases. Each district is required to develop a Health and Safety plan to resume operations and to properly plan and account for our legally required 180 days of instruction. The district has convened a Reopening Task Force to plan for school to begin on August 31. Five committees are developing plans in five major areas - academics, operations, staff, and student supports, communications and community relations, and legal and logistics. The guiding principle for the task force and for committee work to reopen schools is:
