    Welcome
Welcome to the Norristown Area High School College Career Center Web site. The College Career Center is located in the rear part of the Counseling Suite and is a resource room for post-secondary planning information. Mrs. Wiegand, College Career Director, is responsible for the college and career programming for all students which may include college, technical school, community college, the armed services or for students who may seek employment after high school. Mrs. Wiegand, the counselors and the school staff collaborate to assist students in preparing a post-secondary plan. It is recommended that all students begin this plan in ninth grade. It is crucial that students understand the purpose of high school which is to prepare for life beyond high school. Students should ask the question, "What do I want to do after high school?" and "What career do I want to pursue"?  Students follow a guidance curriculum directed by Mrs.Wiegand which includes skills and personality assessments, career planning, a coursework plan. along with focused college planning.  It is recommended that students and parents access the Grade Level tab to see the yearly sequence of tasks that will help students prepare for the senior year and beyond. Both Mrs. Wiegand and the counselors are instrumental in the direction of the high school's goals under the Paths to Excellence. Our office has an expectation that all students should be prepared to pursue their post-secondary experience and to be successful citizents in their communities.

Seniors can use the center to complete applications on the center's laptops and access Mrs. Wiegand during the day or through email during evening hours. Parents can call Mrs. Wiegand at 610-757-3853 or email twiegand@nasd.k12.pa.us for appointments to discuss academic planning for the college and career process. To see what things are planned in the College Career Center click onto the College Career Calendar. Seniors should sign up on Naviance if they are interested in on-the spot admissions days and to meet with colleges visiting the high school. Juniors are also encouraged to meet college representatives. Students need to pick up a Meet the College Representative pass or download it from the Guidance folder in the Naviance document library.
