A Note from the Nurses

We welcome Spring this month and with everything blooming we will also be encountering allergies. We will be spending the warmer days outside at recess and with windows open in the classrooms.  If your child is allergic to pollen, please reach out to their doctor for allergy medicine that they can take to help manage their symptoms. Spring allergies are a major cause of Asthma attacks. During an asthma attack, airways become narrowed and breathing can become extremely difficult. Common asthma symptoms include wheezing, chest tightness, and coughing.

Asthma cannot be cured but it can be controlled. If your child suffers from asthma, many children keep an inhaler in school in case it is needed during the school day. Please contact us to discuss the best way to manage your child’s condition. You can contact our school nurse using the following email address. Elizabeth Arcara at earcara@nasd.k12.pa.us
