Norristown Area School District Board Member Resigns
Dear NASD Community,
The Norristown Area School District Board of School Directors received Jamila Winder’s resignation effective Tuesday, December 22, 2020. Director Winder will join the East Norriton Township Board of Supervisors, where she will fill a vacancy on their board previously held by Pennsylvania State Senator-Elect Amanda Cappelletti.
The Board of School Directors congratulates Jamila Winder on her recent appointment and wish her the best of luck in her new position. She joined the NASD Board in December of 2017 and immediately jumped into the role. Her background in Human Resources made her a perfect fit on the district’s HR Committee. We also valued her expertise with the implementation of the goals of our District’s Diversity and Cultural Proficiency Plan. We appreciate her service to our community and look forward to continuing this partnership in her new capacity.
The Norristown Area School District Board of School Directors will have 30 days from December 22, 2020, to appoint a community member to fill the vacancy on the board. Interested candidates should email a Letter of Interest and a resume or general biographical information to Board Secretary Kathleen DiMaio at firstname.lastname@example.org by 5 pm on Friday, January 8, 2021. An interview process will follow with a recommendation to be brought forward for a Special Meeting to be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, before our monthly Work Session.
Sincerely, Shae Ashe President Norristown Area School District Board of School Directors
