Thursday, July 5, 2018

As many in the community are already aware, the Board of Education of the Norristown Area School District (NASD) is seeking an exceptional educational leader to be its next assistant superintendent of schools. The Board along with NASD superintendent Christopher Dormer are pleased to announce that the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) has been contracted to conduct the search for NASD. Dr. Joseph O’Brien, CCIU executive director, will lead the process. He will be assisted by Dr. Jacalyn Auris, CCIU Director of Students Services, along with several of the CCIU’s top administrators. They will work closely with the NASD Board of Education, Mr. Dormer and the administration to find the best candidate for our District.

The position is being advertised throughout the tri-state area. While applications are being sought, Dr. O’Brien and the CCIU search team will conduct focus groups simultaneously with key stakeholders. From the focus groups, the search team will develop a candidate profile and an array of interview questions that center on the needs and challenges facing the District over the next five years.

The Board of School Directors and Mr. Dormer hope to have the search process completed as soon as possible so that the new assistant superintendent may assume his or her responsibilities in fall 2018.

Thank you for your input and support during this very important process. Best regards,

Board of School Directors

The Norristown Area School District
