The Winfield Scott Hancock Elementary School was constructed in 1962. The school is located in the Municipality of Norristown, and educates approximately 400 students in first through fourth grade. The school is a neighborhood school with 80 percent of the children within walking distance.

Parents are encouraged to participate in volunteer opportunities with the Parent-Faculty Club (PFC). Special parent involvement activities include: Welcome Back BBQ, Open House, American Education Week, Special Person's Day, Math & Reading Nights, Parent Workshops, PSSA Night, Read Across America, Family Dances, Family Movie Night, and Cinco de Mayo.

Conferences are held twice a year to involve parents in their child’s education.
