Ms. Haucy, Counselor

Picture of Ms. HaucyReturning to Marshall Street, Ms. Tammy Haucy joins Ms. Chester on our counseling team! Ms. Haucy holds a Masters in School Counseling and was a High School Counselor for 5 years where she was able to build meaningful connections with all stakeholders. She is excited about coming back where it all started and giving back to her community!

Favorite Color: blue

Hobbies: Play basketball, karaoke and hanging with family/friends🖤

Fun Fact: Born and raised in Norristown! Earned a full scholarship playing D1/D2 Women’s Basketball 🏀


Dr. Hutson, English Language Development Teacher

Picture of Dr. HutsonDr. Hutson is an experienced educator with a background in elementary and middle-level instruction, English Language Development, and academic intervention. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy from Drexel University and a master’s degree in Language Arts and TESOL from Arcadia University. She is passionate about supporting our students through engaging, culturally responsive instruction and helping students grow as confident readers, writers, and communicators. This is her first year at Marshall Street, so she is really looking forward to getting to know and learning from our wonderful students, staff and families!

Favorite Color: Purple

Hobbies: I really enjoy running, yoga, reading and cooking!

Fun Fact: I absolutely love learning new things...even teachers need homework sometimes! Please feel free to share interesting information and hobbies with me!


Ms. Ferguson, English Language Development Teacher

Mrs. Bowen, 3rd Grade Teacher

Picture of Mrs. BowenWe are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Brenda Bowen back as a permanent teacher on the 3rd grade team! You may recognize Mrs. Bowen because she has previously been a long term substitute in some Marshall Street classrooms but now she's here all the time in room 36! Mrs. Bowen is entering her 22nd year of teaching, 15 of those years in the Philadelphia School District. She is most looking forward to building meaningful relationships with students, families, and colleagues. She am passionate about helping students grow as confident readers and learners and creating a classroom where every child feels supported, valued, and encouraged to do their best.

Favorite Color: Green is my favorite color!

Hobbies: In my free time, I enjoy reading and going for walks.

Fun Fact: I am a proud mom of three children. Our family also includes two dogs and three cats!


Ms. Muth, Reading Specialist

Picture of Mrs. MuthMs. Kristen Muth is joining us as another reading specialist working alongside Ms. Conley and Ms. O'Donoghue. She is at Whitehall in the mornings and at Marshall Street in the afternoons. She was a Kindergarten teacher for eighteen years, and is excited about meeting and working with the students at MMarshall Street Elementary!

Hobbies: I like to walk and read and spend time with my family!

Fun Fact: I am a huge Phillies fan!


Mr. DeFrancisco, Physical Therapist

Picture of Mr. DeFranciscoMr. DeFrancisco's background includes previous work as an Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapist in an Outpatient Sports Physical Therapy Clinic. He has always been drawn to treating and helping the pediatric population and recently made the switch to school-based physical therapy to combine my interests! He is most looking forward to meeting the students and having fun!

Hobbies: Running and lifting weights
