Our school nurses perform annual vision screenings with all students as part of their overall health screenings. Parents and guardians are notified if your child does not pass the screening and requires follow-up with an eye care professional.
Undetected vision problems can have a significant impact on a child’s ability to see the board, read, focus, and fully participate in classroom activities, which can affect learning and classroom performance.
If your child is referred for a follow-up eye examination after a school vision screening, the resources below may be helpful. It may also be helpful to speak with your primary care physician's office.
Please contact your insurance company or the eye care provider before scheduling to confirm that they accept your child's specific insurance plan. Insurance participation can vary by plan.
