Marshall Street School’s Art Show

Everyone is welcome and all students will have artwork in the show! 🖍️🎨✂️🖼️🖌️

Kudos to our orchestra, band, fourth-grade chorus, Mr. Heizmann, and Ms. Turner! The students did an exceptional job at the Spring Concert. 🎶

Local author Lauren Petruschke visited Marshall Street! Students enjoyed hearing about the inspiration for her books and the writing process. Mrs. P. also read one of her books to second grade, and encouraged students to be creative writers themselves! 📚🖊️

Second graders enjoyed learning all about farming on their trip to Solly Brothers Farm. Each student planted a small garden, discovered the importance of honey bees, enjoyed a hayride, learned about chickens, and tried to milk a pretend cow.

Third graders enjoyed a day outside at Norristown Farm Park. Riverbend educators organized a fabulous day! Students experienced the watershed while investigating impervious and pervious surfaces, explored Stoney Creek for creatures, and went on a nature walk all while documenting their learning in their nature journal.

Congratulations to our 3rd & 4th grade girls who participated in the Girls on the Run 5K! This inspiring after-school program combined physical activity with lessons in confidence, teamwork, and healthy habits, culminating in a 5K run. 🏃‍♀️🩷 #NASDProud #BeTheLeader #GOTR

Thanks to TeachKind, Carly the Cow visited Marshall Street School and talked to the students about empathy and kindness for all no matter our differences. She is an ambassador for all animals and taught us how animals are not an “it” and should be called he or she. Students learned that animals are just like us and have feelings, preferences, and best friends. 🐄💞

Kindergarten had an excellent time learning about farm life this week by visiting Solly Brother’s Farm! 🐔🚜

👟🏃 Marshall Street’s Annual Walk-a-Thon was a HUGE success! It was a beautiful day for a walk or run around the field. Thanks to the generous donations of friends and family, our school raised over $6,000 for assemblies, author visits, field trips, and more! 🤩

Local author Lauren Petruschke will visit K-2 students on May 18. Families can pre-purchase her books on Amazon or Barnes & Noble. If you’d like a personalized note, please send books into school labeled with your child’s and teacher’s name by May 18th - Mrs. P. would love to sign them! 📚✍️

On Friday the Give and Take Jugglers visited for an entertaining “Little Circus” assembly! There were lots of laughs and audience participation. Thanks to Allison and Eric for showing us how rewarding perseverance, practice, and teamwork really is! 🤹🎪

On Thursday the Kindergarteners enjoyed a fantastic trip to the Philadelphia Zoo! It was the perfect day to explore the zoo and learn all about animals in a fun and interactive way! 🦍🐅🦏🦒

What an amazing performance! The Kindergarteners put on an absolutely incredible show on Wednesday. A massive shout-out to our Music Teacher, Ms. Morgan Turner, for working with our Kindergarteners and producing such a beautiful show! 🤩🎶🌟🎵✨🎤

Second graders proudly show their crafts made from recycled materials in honor of Earth Day! 🌎💚💙♻️

In honor of Earth Day, second graders decorated previously used paper grocery bags to be reused by customers at Giant Grocery Stores. 🌎💚💙

Students in Mrs. Truskowski’s second grade class made posters to raise awareness about Earth Day. 🌎💚💙

Mrs Bowen’s first grade class celebrated Earth Day by making a collaborative poster then making an Earth mobile explaining how they can help the Earth. The day concluded with making bird feeders from toilet paper rolls, sun butter, and bird seed. 🌎💚💙
