Local author Lauren Petruschke visited Marshall Street! Students enjoyed hearing about the inspiration for her books and the writing process. Mrs. P. also read one of her books to second grade, and encouraged students to be creative writers themselves! 📚🖊️

Second graders enjoyed learning all about farming on their trip to Solly Brothers Farm. Each student planted a small garden, discovered the importance of honey bees, enjoyed a hayride, learned about chickens, and tried to milk a pretend cow.

Third graders enjoyed a day outside at Norristown Farm Park. Riverbend educators organized a fabulous day! Students experienced the watershed while investigating impervious and pervious surfaces, explored Stoney Creek for creatures, and went on a nature walk all while documenting their learning in their nature journal.

Congratulations to our 3rd & 4th grade girls who participated in the Girls on the Run 5K! This inspiring after-school program combined physical activity with lessons in confidence, teamwork, and healthy habits, culminating in a 5K run. 🏃‍♀️🩷 #NASDProud #BeTheLeader #GOTR

Thanks to TeachKind, Carly the Cow visited Marshall Street School and talked to the students about empathy and kindness for all no matter our differences. She is an ambassador for all animals and taught us how animals are not an “it” and should be called he or she. Students learned that animals are just like us and have feelings, preferences, and best friends. 🐄💞

👟🏃 Marshall Street’s Annual Walk-a-Thon was a HUGE success! It was a beautiful day for a walk or run around the field. Thanks to the generous donations of friends and family, our school raised over $6,000 for assemblies, author visits, field trips, and more! 🤩
