Today, we proudly celebrated our 5th-grade students for their accomplishments in three key areas: Academic Achievement, Academic Effort, and PBIS Citizenship. These recognitions highlight the hard work, dedication, and positive character our students demonstrate each day. We are so proud of their growth and the example they set for our school community.

Blockson Fifth Grade Families,
Today, all 5th graders received new Chromebooks. If your child still has an old Chromebook or charger at home, please return it immediately to avoid being charged. Learners will use their Chromebooks every day, so remind them to charge them at night and bring them to school each morning. Thank you for being so supportive, and enjoy your weekend!

Hello Blockson Families! This is a friendly reminder that Back to School Night is TONIGHT, Thursday, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Come meet your teachers, learn about the subjects your children will be studying, and pick up some practical strategies to help support your learner at home. Together, we can take Blockson from good to great! During the evening, we’ll also have a large banner for families to sign. We invite you to write a short message in your native language—something uplifting for our learners to read and carry with them throughout the school year. And don’t worry—you’ll be home in plenty of time for the Eagles kickoff! See you Thursday evening!

Lights, camera, action! Our 8th Grade Formal was a glamorous Hollywood-themed evening where students walked the red carpet in style. Dressed to impress, they posed for photos under sparkling lights, enjoyed music, dancing, and treats, and celebrated the end of middle school like true stars. It was a memorable night filled with laughter, friendship, and a touch of movie magic! ¡Luces, cámara, acción! Nuestro baile de graduación de octavo grado fue una glamurosa noche con temática de Hollywood, donde los estudiantes desfilaron por la alfombra roja con estilo. Vestidos para impresionar, posaron para fotos bajo luces brillantes, disfrutaron de música, baile y dulces, y celebraron el fin de la secundaria como verdaderas estrellas. ¡Fue una noche memorable llena de risas, amistad y un toque de magia cinematográfica!

Students from the district had their art selected and displayed in the 2024-2025 District Art show. Some of the art included drawings, paintings, paper mache, and some ceramics. Our musicians had two outstanding performances this week. Congratulations to our chorus, orchestra, band and jazz band students. A huge shoutout to Mrs. O’Brien and Mr. Ramsey for encouraging and supporting our students! On May 28th , 6 Blockson students were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. Lauren Hughes (Montgomery County Solicitor) was the Keynote speaker. On May 22nd the National Junior Honor Society students along with the Blockson Eagle Ambassadors traveled to Pocono Valley Resort for a fun filled day. Despite the rain the students were able to connect with students from various schools in our area to work on the qualities it takes to be a leader. The students were able to test their limits and explore new adventures through zip lining, climbing ropes or swimming. Our students were able to overcome the obstacles in their way and went to new heights literally and figuratively! El 22 de mayo, los estudiantes de la Sociedad Nacional de Honor Juvenil, junto con los Embajadores Águila de Blockson, viajaron al Pocono Valley Resort para disfrutar de un día lleno de diversión. A pesar de la lluvia, pudieron reunirse con estudiantes de varias escuelas de nuestra zona para desarrollar las cualidades necesarias para ser un líder. Pudieron poner a prueba sus límites y explorar nuevas aventuras practicando tirolesa, trepando cuerdas o nadando. ¡Nuestros estudiantes superaron los obstáculos y alcanzaron nuevas alturas, tanto literal como figurativamente!
