🌈✨ Sweet Learning in Mrs. Altieri’s Class! ✨🌈
Mrs. Altieri’s class turned math time into a magically delicious adventure! 🍀🥣 Students sorted and graphed their Lucky Charms marshmallows, then analyzed their data to discover which shapes appeared the most… and which were the rarest treasures! 📊🔍
From rainbows 🌈 to hearts 💖, our young mathematicians used their graphing skills to compare, count, and draw conclusions—all while having a little fun along the way!
Now the big question… which marshmallow do YOU think showed up the most? 🤔👇

On Thursday, March 19, we will celebrate World Down Syndrome Day! Students and staff are invited to wear bright, colorful, mismatched socks to celebrate how everyone is unique. We wear mismatched socks because socks are shaped like chromosomes, and people with Down Syndrome have an extra chromosome! Here are some of our own students explaining World Down Syndrome Day: https://youtu.be/FZvPtjan59g

Today in Ms. Pro's class, students learned all about Pi Day. While Pi day takes place tomorrow, students had the opportunity to learn about the Pi symbol, the beginning numbers of pi, making a pi city skyline, and ended the day making s'more pies.

📚 Read Across America Week at Paul V. Fly Elementary School! 🐼
This week, our scholars at Paul V. Fly Elementary School joined schools across the country in celebrating the joy and importance of reading during Read Across America Week! Throughout the week, our classrooms and hallways were filled with excitement as students shared their favorite books and discovered new stories.
Our 3rd graders proudly highlighted some of their favorite reads, showing that reading truly is a superpower! From adventures in space to thrilling animal stories, our students reminded us how books can take us anywhere.
Students also kicked off a special challenge this week — the “Books Across America Reading Challenge.” The goal is simple but exciting: read a book from every state in the United States! Our readers are already off to a great start, completing 4 states this week… only 46 more to go!
At Paul V. Fly, we believe reading opens doors to imagination, knowledge, and opportunity. We are proud of our scholars for embracing the joy of reading and look forward to seeing how many states they can explore through books!
Keep reading, PVF scholars — the adventure has just begun! 📖✨

🎶📚 A Powerful Culmination to Black History Month at Paul V. Fly! ✊🏾✨
As we concluded our celebration of Black History Month, we were honored to welcome a very special virtual guest reader — Chief Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Officer, Steven V. Willis — who joined our classrooms this afternoon.
Mr. Willis read Change Sings: A Children’s Anthem by Amanda Gorman and beautifully engaged our students in a meaningful story about voice, courage, unity, and the power each of us has to create positive change in the world. 🌎💛
To commemorate this special culminating activity, every student received a Black History Month sticker as a reminder that learning about history, culture, and belonging is something we carry with us beyond just one month.
Thank you, Mr. Willis, for inspiring our students and helping us close out Black History Month with purpose and pride. At PVF, we continue to honor the past, celebrate the present, and empower our students to shape the future. ❤️🖤💚

We had a wonderful time at our Parent Workshop: Understanding Your Child’s Reading & Math Data!
It was great to see families come together to learn more about how to read assessment reports, understand student progress, and discover ways to support learning at home. Parents asked thoughtful questions, shared ideas, and gained helpful tools to better understand their child’s strengths and next steps in both reading and math.
Thank you to all the families who attended and made it such a positive and collaborative experience. When schools and families work together, our students thrive! 💙
