It’s Turkey Day here at Paul V. Fly Elementary School, and the students are loving the delicious feast! A big shoutout to our incredible staff for preparing this wonderful meal. We even have a special guest helping serve today—Mr. Dormer!

The 4th graders celebrated the end of Module 1 in Wit and Wisdom with a poetry party. To show off our knowledge of the literal heart, we played a fun Blooket showcasing our knowledge of the circulatory system. For the figurative great heart, we created poems inspired by The Red Wheelbarrow by William Carlos Williams. We also wrote out cards to people we know who show the characteristics of a great heart. We included brownies in our celebration, just like Jack and Walter Dean Meyers!

Paul Fly Elementary began collecting food for the annual law enforcement food drive last week! Please continue to send in non-perishable food items with your child. Collections will run through December 6th.

A special thank you to Corinne and Harry from Canine Partners for Life! Corinne taught our 4th graders about service dogs and Harry showed students how he helps Corinne every day.

After reading Duck for President, first grade students learned about Election Day, created their own voter registration cards, and shared in the voting experience! Check out the highlights: https://www.wevideo.com/view/3606945771

Kindergarten and First Grade students had the opportunity to create their very own “Friendly” Monsters! The monsters were created as a connection to the book “I Want My Monster.” Students used playdough, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, and their imagination to design amazing little creatures!

Second Grade practiced coding with Tale-Bots! They used the Bots to knock down the sandcastles they created! They added length and weight to the Bots’ “arms” to see if they could get more of their castles to tumble!

Kindergarten created and played tambourines! The tambourines are an extension of the five senses lessons they are working through in their Wit and Wisdom Module.

Fourth Grade demonstrated their knowledge of the circulatory system when they designed their own working system. They had so much fun connecting the “heart” and pumping the “blood” through the vessels.

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our Student Advisory Council, part of a district-wide initiative led by our Superintendent, Mr. Dormer. This group, made up of students from each class, will meet quarterly to share their experiences and ideas to help shape decisions that impact our schools.
We had a fantastic first meeting, and our student representatives are excited to bring their voices forward! This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to engage in meaningful discussions and play an active role in our school community.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue this exciting journey together!
