3rd Graders rotated around the grade on Monday for various Winter Activities. Ms. Fosco's STEAM rotation was a challenge of building and decorating a life size gingerbread house. The students used their creativity to design some neat houses!

Mrs. Sagastume's 3rd grade ELA class had a heartwarming day. We had explored the central message of the book Extra Yarn—that giving back to others is the true way to feel joy! The class embraced this lesson by first reflecting on and writing about their own special gifts and how they can use them to help our community.
We then created cozy yarn hearts for the special people in our lives, and finally, worked together to make beautiful, no-sew blankets, which Mrs. Sagstume will donate to the @RMHC (Ronald McDonald House Charities) for their welcome bags. We are incredibly proud of the students' generosity and teamwork today! 💙

Feasting on friendship and gratitude! 🍁💛

Hancock celebrated their Top Turkeys today! Each teacher chose two students. The Top Turkeys are students that are R.E.A.L. (Responsible, Empathetic, Accepting Leaders) all day and every day. They put forth great effort into their work and learning and treat everyone with respect and kindness. They make Hancock a better place because they are here! The Top Turkeys were treated to a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving movie and Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving meal: popcorn, jelly beans, pretzels, hot cocoa and toast!

We were excited to welcome a special visitor from the Travis Manion Foundation, Mr. Shaun Fishburn, to speak with our third graders at Hancock Elementary School! Students learned about hope, perseverance, and a love of learning, and how small acts of kindness and courage can make a big difference. The Foundation’s motto—“If not me, then who?”—inspires us all to step up, help others, and be leaders in our school and community.
