Each week a Golden Paw is awarded to a student in each grade for going above and beyond and that exemplifies the quality of the month. This month we focused on positivity. The students were rewarded with a medal, a prize, and due to a partnership with the Elmwood Park Zoo a free admission ticket to the zoo. Congratulations to our winners and a special thank you to the Elmwood Park Zoo.

To celebrate Music in Our Schools Month Norristown hosted its own District Band Fest! On Tuesday Night Band Students from across the District performed together. Whitehall was proud to send 15 amazing 4th grade band students! They did a great job!

First Grade students in Mrs. Taylor's class are busy researching which animal they would like to write about for their Wit and Wisdom End of Module Task. With the help of student teacher Miss Gibbons students researched information on the hippopotamus, chimpanzee and platypus.
We are excited to be part of RIF! Be on the lookout for new books for our 1st graders. We hope to receive our shipment within the month.

Last night Whitehall held its 1st Once Upon A Pajama Night. The students came wearing their pajamas, listened to stories, ate some snacks, made a craft, and left with a free book. A good time was had by all.

Fourth grade students read about Abraham Lincoln. They were fascinated that he lived in a log cabin as a child, so we built our own using Lincoln Logs. The cabin had to be tall enough to fit Honest Abe and also have a roof. They succeeded and had fun along the way!
First grade students in Library listened to the powerful voice of Aretha Franklin. It inspired us to create our own music using a Makey Makey Piano. Students learned the concept of a closed electric circuit and conductivity. Our library class turned into a music lab!
Our kindergarten learners read about Mae C. Jemison in Library. She was the first African American woman to travel to space. They were excited to learn that the sun is actually a star, so we created our own stars using Strawbees. It required teamwork and following color coded directions, but our final stars sure do shine in the library!
