Due to ongoing snow clean up, road refreezing, and extreme temperatures tomorrow, Norristown Area School District will have a 2 Hour Delay tomorrow, Monday, December 15, 2025. Buses will also be on a 2 Hour Delay. Each week Golden PAWS are awarded to a student in each grade for going above and beyond and that exemplifies the quality of the month. This month we focused on Leadership. The students were rewarded with a medal, a prize, and due to a partnership with the Elmwood Park Zoo two free admission tickets to the zoo. Congratulations to our winners and a special thank you to the Elmwood Park Zoo.

Students from every grade were awarded a certificate for a free meal at Applebee's for being PAWSOME students in special areas…Keep up the PAWSOME work!

Over 65 students, that earned a mystery motivator, enjoyed a game day in the cafeteria. Students played games, did puzzles, played with Legos and Mr. Potato Head, and had fun with friends. Congratulations to our students!

Reminder that school will be closed for the remainder of the week for Thanksgiving break. We hope you all have a great holiday! Students will return to school on Monday, Dec 1st.

Each week a Golden Paw is awarded to a student in each grade for going above and beyond and that exemplifies the quality of the month. This month we focused on Citizenship. The students were rewarded with a medal, a prize, and due to a partnership with the Elmwood Park Zoo two free admission tickets to the zoo. Congratulations to our winners and a special thank you to the Elmwood Park Zoo.

Students in second grade library class read Balloons Over Broadway, which tells the story of Tony Sarg, the puppeteer who invented the giant balloons for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. After reading, they worked in small groups to create their own balloons and paraded them down the library.

In 3rd Grade, we read Our Table by Peter H. Reynolds. The book is a fable about the importance of human connection, family traditions, and the impact of technology. After reading, students worked together to build a table for their feast. Through perseverance and collaboration, they came to understand how important it is to communicate with one another.

Whitehall Multilingual Learners’ Project (grades K-4)

Students learned about the life and legacy of Frida Kahlo as a part of celebrating Hispanic heritage month. We learned about her life challenges, explored her art work, and analyzed figurative language in her famous quote:

“FEET, WHAT DO I NEED YOU FOR

WHEN I HAVE WINGS TO FLY”

Good Afternoon Whitehall Families, Reminder that tomorrow, November 25th is an early dismissal. Students will be dismissed at 12:20.

Today students from Miss McCormick’s room enjoyed adapted literacy activities using the book There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Turkey, written by Lucille Colandro and illustrated by Jared Lee.

They then joined a live reading of the story with the author, along with classrooms from across the country. Students even had the chance to ask questions and interact with the author as a whole group. This was a perfect way to end American Education Week with inclusive literacy practices that bring every learner into the story!

Yesterday our Best Buddy participants enjoyed snacks and a fun Thanksgiving conversation game to build communication and make new friends. We are so thankful for our Whitehall Best Buddies program and the friendships it creates!
