Some of Blockson’s 5th grade scholars researched Native American tribes as an extension to their ELA novel, Thunder Rolling in the Mountains, and in celebration of Native American Heritage Month for Social Studies. They were required to research, create a poster, and present their work to the class.

Dear Blockson Families and learners,
Our District Operations team has identified a plumbing problem at Blockson Middle School that requires immediate attention. We have been informed that the necessary repairs will not be completed until sometime on Monday. Unfortunately, we are not able to hold in-person operations at Blockson until the repairs are completed.
Therefore, Blockson Middle School students WILL NOT report to school on Monday, November 11, 2024. All students will participate virtually on Monday, with live, synchronous teaching and learning provided. Only Blockson Middle School will have a virtual day, as no other district buildings are affected.
To allow teachers time to adjust for virtual instruction on Monday, students will follow a two hour delay schedule. Our teachers will share the link for their classes with the students. Please click the link below for the daily schedule. Attendance will be taken during each period.
We appreciate your patience, grace, and understanding as we navigate this unanticipated situation.
We will provide updates on Monday if we anticipate disruption to in-person instruction for Tuesday.

Wednesday, October 2nd, is an early dismissal day at 11:50 AM. For the students' safety, no early pickups are allowed after 11:20 AM on early dismissal days. School is closed on THURSDAY, October 3rd, in observance of Rosh Hashanah.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Please come to Back to School Night/Open House TONIGHT from 5 to 7 p.m. The evening will begin in the auditorium at 5 pm. Meet teachers and building staff and learn about academic programs and opportunities for your learners. We look forward to seeing you later today!
