Students celebrated a full week of spirit days to celebrate Hispanic Heritage! 🎉 On “Si Se Puede Day” students were dressed as their future self doing their dream job! 👩🏻‍⚕️👷🏽👩🏽‍🏫⛹🏽‍♀️🕺👨🏼‍✈️🧑🏽‍🎨👩🏻‍🍳 We have future chefs, police officers, teachers, doctors, martial artists, veterinarians, and military members!

A tradition continues! 📚💙🦅 In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, NAHS students visited Marshall Street classrooms to read books with elementary students. The high school students belong to Raíces Encontradas, a service-based organization that supports Hispanic young men. The students read Lola Out Loud, by Jennifer Torres, and Areli Is A Dreamer, by Areli Morales and Luisa Uribe. Thanks for visiting Marshall Street! 💚🐾💛

It’s Fire Prevention Week! 🧑🏼‍🚒🔥

Today, Marshall Street had a fire drill and a visit from Jefferson Fire Company. After the fire drill, students viewed fire trucks and watched Principal Dr. Harper as she climbed the ladder. A very big “Thank You!” to the firefighters who visited our school today!

Marshall Street students attended their first assembly of the school year and learned how to become a Golden Jaguar! 💛🏅🤩 Students may earn a spot at this monthly event by following the “3Bs” - be respectful, be responsible, and be safe. Teachers and staff look forward to acknowledging students who have good attendance; do their work and try their best in class; and show positive behavior throughout the school day. Go Jaguars! 💚🐾💛

Kindergarten celebrated Dot Day by reading The Dot and learning about artist Wassily Kandinsky. The message “just make a mark and see where it takes you” was important! Then they drew and painted their own dots in Kandinsky’s style.
