Whitehall Elementary School -

We had our first Mystery Motivator on Wednesday, 10/29. 10 students, whose row was filled on the 200 board, got to have lunch with a buddy. Students enjoyed choosing a friend and eating in the lobby with Mrs. Stocker. Congratulations to our winners.

On Monday we ended our Walkathon Fundraiser with the Wildcat Walk. The weather was beautiful and the kids had a great time hanging with their friends and listening to the music. Thanks to all of the families that donated towards the purchase of fun recess equipment. Finally, a special shout out NAHS DECA student volunteers for helping manage the event and contributing to the kids fun. Click the link below for photos.

Mrs. Skarbek & Miss Arena’s first grade class dove into their newest Wit & Wisdom book today! Students worked collaboratively to notice details and generate questions about the new text: Green Eggs and Ham.

First grade got busy in music class and learned a song to tie their shoes! Each student was able to use the song to try to tie a shoe of their own. Most students were successful in learning. Great job first grade!

We will have Picture Retake Day on November 6th, 2025. Picture retakes only apply to students who 1) missed the original picture day and 2) purchased picture packages and do not like the picture.

If you are having your child's photo retaken you must return the original package with all of the photos on the day of retakes. Without this your package will not be remade.

Each week a Golden Paw is awarded to a student in each grade for going above and beyond and that exemplifies the quality of the month. This month we focused on Positivity. The students were rewarded with a medal, a prize, and due to a partnership with the Elmwood Park Zoo two free admission tickets to the zoo. Congratulations to our winners and a special thank you to the Elmwood Park Zoo.

🎃 Best Buddies Pumpkin Painting Fun! 🎨

Today our Autistic Support classrooms teamed up with our amazing 4th-grade buddies for our first Best Buddies event of the year! Students worked together to paint pumpkins and build new friendships.

Best Buddies is a program at Whitehall that promotes inclusion and meaningful connections between students of all abilities, and today’s activity was the perfect way to kick off the year! 🍂💛🧡

Kindergarten read Pig the Monster by Aaron Blabey. We learned that it's good to share and that dogs should definitely NOT eat chocolate! We ended our lesson by coding Pig to get to the Skittles. We did a great job giving a set of directions and Pig shared his Skittles with us.

Kindergarten students absolutely loved seeing if pumpkins sink or float? Ask them what they learned, we were surprised! We also learned the life cycle of a pumpkin, it takes about 4 months for a pumpkin to grow!

Fourth grade students read a biography book on Frida Kahlo in library class. We learned that she painted many self portraits and often included her pet animals. Students designed and built their own paintbrush. They tested out their design by painting a portrait of Frida.
