Kindergarten has been busy! We are learning letters and sounds, and discovered that F is for Friends. The Farm Truck visited school and we tasted smoothies, did and apple 🍏 🍎 taste test, some fall 🍁 crafts, and enjoyed our very first PAW 🐾 assembly!

Whitehall 3rd Grade English Language Learners had the special opportunity to take a trip to Longwood Gardens to learn about how nature can make us feel happy and calm through the Benefits of Nature program. "Breathe in...T-R-E-E..., hold, breathe out...T-R-E-E." The sounds of flowing water and scents from peppermint and lavender made us all feel great!

Here is a letter from Whitehall PFC!

Miss Gillespie’s class was looking for evidence! TEXT evidence! First graders compared two stories in the Wit and Wisdom program and found evidence to support their answers.

Yesterday Stella from 2nd Grade spent the day with Dr. Kirksey as the Student Principal of the Day. Stella visited classrooms and lunches, ate lunch with Dr. Kirksey, got to sit in the "Big Chair", and carry the walkie-talkie. Stella said her favorite part of the day was calling the bus numbers on the microphone.
Stella won this job during the PFC Spring Basket Raffle!

Food Trust and Wyncote Farm brought Farmer Nala to 2nd grade. She brought vegetables from her farm for the students to try. She shared pictures of her farm and video clips of her chickens and rooster, Johnny. We learned that being a farmer is a lot of work, but very rewarding!

Whitehall Elementary School participated in “lighting the world blue” in support of Mesothelioma Awareness Day! We did this in honor of Mrs. Gillespie’s son and Miss Gillespie’s brother, Patrick Maholland.

4th grade had a visit today from our Friends from SPARKS.

3rd & 4th Grade Physical Education Students used their teamwork skills to escape their "shipwreck" and get to the beach without touching the ocean (floor) and be eaten by a shark!!!

Tomorrow is an Early Dismissal Day. Out students will be dismissed at 12:20.

Whitehall welcomes Hispanic Heritage Month! The idea for Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated throughout the latter half of September and the first half of October, began as a way to promote the history, culture, and contributions of Hispanic-Americans — specifically, those whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Communities mark the achievements of Hispanic and Latino Americans with festivals and educational activities. We here at Whitehall recognize and are thankful for all the contributions of our Hispanic-Americans. We salute you!

Every Wednesday during the school year will be Whitehall Wednesday. This is a day to show your Whitehall Pride by wearing Blue or White! If you want to purchase Whitehall Clothing click the link below. https://shop.shirtandink.com/whitehall_elementary/shop/home
