Good Afternoon Whitehall Families,
Reminder that all NASD schools and offices will be tomorrow, March 20th in celebration of Eid.
We will see you all on Monday!

Today, as a school, we recognized World Down Syndrome Day by “rocking our socks” and celebrating what makes each of us unique!

Students from Ms. McCormick’s class designed and colored their own creative sock patterns, practicing self expression and individuality. We loved seeing everyone participate by wearing colorful, mismatched socks to spread awareness, kindness, and inclusion.

Each week Golden PAWS are awarded to a student in each grade for going above and beyond and that exemplifies the quality of the month. In March we are focusing on Positivity. The students were rewarded with a medal, a prize, and due to a partnership with the Elmwood Park Zoo two free admission tickets to the zoo. Congratulations to our winners and a special thank you to the Elmwood Park Zoo.

The following students earned 5 PAWS and were rewarded this week. Keep up the PAWTASTIC work.

Reminder that tomorrow, March 19th, is a half day for students. They will be dismissed at 12:20.

Congratulations to our 34 students chosen to participate in NASD's 2nd District Choir Fest! These select students were chosen to represent Whitehall at this festival, and did an amazing job! Fourth grade students had the opportunity to attend a live theatrical performance at Blockson Middle School. The middle school performance is Seussical The Musical. It was an outstanding!

Students who earned the Mystery Motivator this week were able to shop at the Stocker Store. They were beyond excited and found it fully “Stocked” with some awesome goodies.

Hello Whitehall Families! Next week March 2-6 is Read Across America week! This week celebrates reading and encourages students and families to read every day. Each day will have a special theme based on a book. On Monday, students may wear a hat for The Cat in the Hat. On Tuesday, students should dress their best for spring pictures and, Oh, The Places You'll Go. On Wednesday, students can wear mis-matched clothes for Wacky Wednesday. On Thursday, students can wear pajamas for The Sleep Book. And on Friday, students can wear red and blue for One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.
