Join us for a Kindergarten Information Session

We hope you'll join us for one of our district-wide Kindergarten Information Sessions this spring! These events are a great opportunity to:

  • Meet members of your child’s future school community

  • Learn how to support your child’s transition to Kindergarten

  • Ask questions and connect with other families

Session Dates & Locations:

  • Monday, May 12 | 5:30–6:30 PM | Roosevelt Campus of NAHS

  • Wednesday, May 28 | 5:30–6:30 PM | Marshall Street Elementary School

  • Thursday, May 29 | 9:45–10:45 AM | Musselman Learning Center*
    *For Musselman families only

A Day in the Life of a NASD Kindergarten Student

Eligibility

A child is eligible for admission to kindergarten if the child has attained the age of five (5) years before September 1st, per NASD Board Policies 200 and 201. Visit the Student Registration page for more information and to begin the online registration process.

1 - Standard-sized backpack

1 - Pencil/supply box with attached lid

1 - Wired headphones

2 - Boxes of Crayola Crayons (24 pack)

1 - Box of Crayola Washable Markers

3 - Thick glue sticks

2 - Packages of black Expo dry erase markers (1 regular and 1 fine-tipped)

1 - Pack of pre-sharpened pencils

1 - Post-it notes

1 - Pair of Fiskars brand round-tipped scissors

3 - Plastic folders with prongs (1 red, 1 yellow, and 1 blue)

1 - Box of tissues

1 - Change of clothes in a labeled gallon Ziplock bag

1 - New sock or whiteboard eraser
