Mr. Jeffrey Cardwell joined Norristown Area School District last month as our new Chief Operations Officer. We are so excited to have Mr. Cardwell here at NASD.
After earning his bachelor’s degree from Temple University in Geography and Urban Studies, Mr. Cardwell started his career as a horse-mounted Park Ranger in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia. Prior to joining NASD, he served in many different roles in the greater Philadelphia area including the Special Assistant to the Commissioner of the Department of Recreation, and the Deputy Commissioner of The Philadelphia Department of Public Property. Mr. Cardwell moved from city government to school government and began working as the Deputy Chief Operation Officer of the School District of Philadelphia, the Facility and Operation Director of Pottsgrove School District, and the Assistant Facility and Operation Director of the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit.
Mr. Cardwell grew up in Philadelphia, and now lives in the Pottstown area with his wife and three daughters. In his free time, he enjoys doing renovation and construction projects, traveling, and spending time with his family. His family loves to watch new movies when they come out, and right now he is looking forward to Marvel Studios: The Marvels coming out in November.
Mr. Cardwell is looking forward to developing and improving systems to benefit our NASD community. Already, he has helped improve communication with parents about issues such as transportation. Mr. Cardwell mentioned how welcoming the NASD community has been, from fellow staff members to parents and students. He said,
“I don’t feel new. [Everyone] has been friendly and receptive. I come to work and it feels like I fit right in.”
We are happy to have Mr. Cardwell as part of our leadership team at NASD and we are looking forward to seeing the positive impact he will have on our district.
